Wyburn-Mason syndrome

Differential Diagnosis

  • Retinal arteriovenous malformation not associated with intracranial arteriovenous malformation
  • von Hippel-Lindau disease: no associated hemangioblastoma of the cerebellum or visceral lesions identified on imaging. Retinal lesions usually become visible between ages 10 and 35.
  • Retinal arterial macroaneurysms: no associated hypertension, usually smaller in size
  • Retinal cavernous hemangiomas: appear as “grape-like”clusters
