Case 5 History

  • 12-year-old girl presents for decreased visual acuity since birth with latent nystagmus.
  • Fitted with glasses since 9 months; regular glasses changes, never able to achieve better than 20/40 vision
  • Referred for suspected retinal dystrophy
  • Strabismus surgery age 4 for esotropia
  • Full term, uncomplicated pregnancy and delivery
  • Possible developmental delay
