  • History taking is very important when evaluating a patient with endophthalmitis (reasons for immunosuppression, IV drug abuse or hospital bases IV access, chronic infections)
  • Consider Klebsiella from liver abscesses in differential diagnosis of endogenous endophthalmitis in an immunocompetant host
  • Endophthalmitis Vitrectomy Study looking at post-cataract surgery endophthalmitis recommends vitreous tap and intravitreal antibiotics for hand motion vision or better, vitrectomy for light perception vision or worse.
