Case 160 Exam

  • Visual Acuity

    OD 20/400 (baseline)

    OS 20/300

  • + right afferent pupillary defect
  • SLE: 3+ diffuse conjunctival injection, 4+ anterior chamber cell with 0.7 mm hypopyon, 3+ anterior vitreous cell
  • Ocular motility, pupillary reflexes, intraocular pressures were normal
  • DFE OD: pale optic nerve, healthy macula/vessels/periphery
  • DFE OS: see photo
  • Lab tests: elevated liver enzymes, leukocytosis
  • Abdominal ultrasound showed three cystic areas in right lobe of liver suspicious for an abscess
