Case 150 History

  • 25-year-old man who received a laser discharge into the right eye with an infrared 20 Hz, 15 mJ/pulse laser. Patient was not wearing safety goggles.
  • Patient seen same day as accident
  • Had immediate central scotoma described as a “red balloon” in the center of vision
  • Past medical history and past ocular history unremarkable
