Degenerative peripheral retinoschisis with macular schisis

Differential Diagnosis

  • Retinal detachment: can be seen both on exam and on OCT that the outer retina is still attached without tears
  • Juvenile retinoschisis: this is an x-linked disorder affecting boys in childhood
