Title: A phase 2/3, randomized, double-masked, sham-controlled trial of QPI-1007 delivered by single or multi-dose intravitreal injection(s) to subjects with Acute Nonarteritic Anterior Ischemic Optic Neuopathy (NAOIN)
IRB Number: HUM00114708
Nonarteritic Anterior Ischemic Optic Neuropathy (NAION) is a condition that occurs when there is an event of decreased blood flow to the optic nerve. This is also sometimes referred to as a “stroke” of the optic nerve.
This study will test an experimental drug, QPI-1007. This drug is designed to temporarily block cells from making specific proteins that have been found when cells are damaged due to lack of oxygen. Temporarily stopping the cells from making these proteins could give the damaged cells more time to make repairs which could potentially prevent further vison loss.
