Farewell to the old Kellogg clinic building
In 1979, plans were under way to renovate the Parkview medical facility and the Turner Geriatric building to provide a new home for the Department of Ophthalmology. The buildings served us well for many years, but the need for more space led to the opening of a new facility for the Kellogg Eye Center in 2010.
Demolition of the old Kellogg Eye Center clinic building began in February 2012. The space will become a parking lot for patients, who will enter the Eye Center through a new entrance at the south end of the building. Take a look at these photos of the demolition— from the arrival of the backhoes through the demolition of the old clinic building. (24 photos)
