University of Michigan Ophthalmology Residency Program
When you come to the University of Michigan Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences you become part of a residency program that combines the virtues of compassionate care and sound clinical judgment with the technological resources of a major research institution. Since 1872, the Department has embraced tradition, growth, and a vision that has inspired innovation. As a resident at Michigan, you will find that we take a deep interest in your training and in building a long-term relationship with you. While we prepare each resident to become a top-notch clinician, we also provide training that will allow you to accept an academic position if you choose to do so. Finally, we select our residents with a view towards developing a relationship that reaches far beyond the three-year training period. At Michigan we look for residents who will join our superb group of alumni. Ophthalmology residents at Michigan join an exceptional program in an exceptional University community. The academic components of your training are enhanced by the intellectual opportunities available all over campus. The social aspects of the years you spend here are enriched by Ann Arbor's diverse and dynamic culture. Our Department is committed to training world-class ophthalmologists. We welcome you and your family to join us at Michigan. Paul R. Lichter, M.D. |
