Shayne defended his thesis, "Role of Insulin-Related Growth Factors in the Retina of the Goldfish," in 1997 and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Wayne State University in 2001. Shayne is currently a Senior Scientist in New Technologies at the GIBCO, Invitrogen Co. - Alexandra Calinescu, M.D., Ph.D.
Alexandra defended her thesis, "Midkines, in the Neural Stem Cell Niche, during Developmental and Regenerative Neurogenesis and Their Regulation by the Circadian Clock in the Retina of Zebrafish," in August 2008. - Sonya E.L. Craig, Ph.D.
- Allison D'Costa, Ph.D.
Dr. D'Costa was a postdoctoral fellow in the lab 1995-1998. Dr. D'Costa is currently an Instructor in the Department of Cell Biology at Emory University. - Malgorzata Ochocinska, Ph.D.
Dr. Ochicinska defended her thesis, "Expression and Function of the Basic Helix-Loop-Helix Transcription Factor NeuroD in the Teleost Retina" in September 2007. Dr. Ochocinska is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the National Institutes of Health. - Deborah Otteson, Ph.D.
Dr. Otteson defended her thesis, "Morphogenesis, Neurogenesis and Regeneration if the Retina," in December 1999. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Johns Hopkins University in 2004. Dr. Otteson is currently an Assistant Professor of Optometry and Physiological Optics in the School of Optometry, The University of Houston.
